Carnival turns 36 and I am hosting the party. I almost feel like I am about to have hundreds if not thousands enter into my living room, I would ask you all to take off your shoes, but I think that might be a bit rude. (just don't touch my breakables).
Normally, the parties are held at my house and one of the things that my husband requires me to do is to take a few shots before my guests arrive. He tells me to do this because I have this "thing" about having to have everything perfect as well as have everything ready before my guests arrive. I also want everyone to have the MOST fun here at my "home". So a shot of tequila, Bacardi or straight rubbing alcohol will usually do the trick for my nerves to calm down.
(Your welcome to join me for a few shots - I am going to do two quick shots of Bacardi Rum).
...Now I am ready to get this party started....
Starting out with some hot horderves - (Sorry, I could not chose just one).
Golbguru presents - The Subprime Mess - All About Ignorance, Dishonesty, and Our Tendency To Look For Loopholes. This is a great controversial article about the subprime "crisis" and like one commenter said - “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people”. Subprime loans aren’t bad, but some of the people making subprime loans are!"
and.. a prime example would be ..Broker Bryant's article "See Sally's fall on the way to Paradise lost". This is a sad realization of what the Needermoney's of the world promised to the fallen.
Nina presents "The Skinny on Sub-Prime Loans" posted at Queercents. Nina offers the skinny on Sub-primes but she also gives great advise to anyone who is finding themselves in a mess.
Moving onto some Antipasto -
This one just hit my funny bone! Joshua Dorkin from BiggerPockets presents Why Pets Are Better Tenants than Children, Joshua says its because "Pets often smell bad vs. Children often smell very bad... " Hysterical!
With every Italian hostess we need to have a pasta dish -
Maureen Francis from miOaklandCounty presents 10 Things You Can’t Do If You Want to SELL Your Michigan Home. Maureen explains to her sellers what NOT to do when trying to sell your home. I love the first line about FSBO's and the fourth one - WHY you should not under pay your agent. Great article Maureen!
Moving onto the main course -
I have selected the post by Greg Swann from the BloodhoundBlog about "Egoism in action: How you can grow and prosper, at work and everywhere, even in the face of hostile criticism" for many reasons but mainly because I feel that his in depth chat with Corey is sending a message to more than just Corey. I do I agree with Greg when he says "His behavior might be unreasonable and yet his complaint might be profoundly important". I will have to go out on the limb to suggest that this post was made for more than just Corey and perhaps it was submitted to me as an entry to the Carnival for a much larger issue, but whatever the case may be - I found his insight to be spot on.
DESSERT anyone??
Larry Cragun from RealEstateUndressed presents Lead Lead Lead Lead this was an excellent post about leads and leads and oh - leads and how the internet plays an important role in educating buyers and sellers but he forewarns both that the paths they follow could lead them into a newbie, rookie or Houdini agent.
I actually had to go back to recheck the posting date on Joel Burslem's post "Coldwell Banker Opens Office in Second Life" from Future of Real Estate Marketing, because it almost sounded like an April Fool's day joke.
As an added bonus, this post was just funny and it stood out to me so consider this your party favor!
Nick presents Best No Fee Apartment in Manhattan!? posted at Manhattanrealestatev
Finally, I had over 40 submissions this week and trust me they were all were great, but I have to say that the one submission that I am going to give the "winner spot" to would be Trulia's video interview with Barbara Corcoran which was hosted by Sean Black . Barbara says to be a great real estate agent you must "Be great at taking rejection and after you take a hit, don't take it personally, the great agents take a 1/2 hour to feel better and then they move on" the ability to that is what will make an agent a superstar. Sean this was a great three part interview and I want to thank you for the submission.
Next weeks (4/9/2007)host will be - EFipo.com
