So you decided to search for homes that are up for sale. You are a smart buyer and you know that your searching will start at home, on the Internet. This is a great thing and I congratulate you! The best advise that I can give you, honestly is to get in touch with a real estate agent that can set you up with email feed listings. It will save you alot of time and you will get the newest and most updated listings sent right to your email. Some agents will not like to do this because it is the dreaded fear that you will drive past the home and call the listing agent that is listed on the 'For Sale' sign and then ultimately buy the home, with the listing agent and not them.
Some other searching tools that might come in handy -
Trulia - They offer alot of information about an area that you are searching for. They provide you with heat maps, school information, and facts about the area.
MLSLI.Com - This is another great searching tool. You can search for homes for sale or narrow it down to open houses that will be held during a certain time.
Good post. Thanks for the tips! Yes, when I am ready to purchase again, I will be starting my search on the Internet - where else? However, I will also be sure of this criteria for the perfect agent - they must be Internet savvy as well, and available for my call if I need them, and last but not least - knowledgeable.
