Today is the first day of summer and my oldest son's last day of school - which I am happy about, nervous about and ohhh so anxious about. My son's do NOT sit still. So I know this summer is going to cost me a fortune. Between baseball camps, basketball camps and extra "fun" things - my oldest has already cost me a fortune. But then I have my youngest who goes to a "sitter" (sitter I mean Niece) which I pay daily, who takes my son EVERYWHERE - like the beach, pool, the mall and I buck up again. So daily, on average maybe 50-100$ UGH. Why am I working again?
I found this article this morning, on "Dumb Little Man" while doing my daily advertising routine and I found it too good to pass up, some good lessons here. I don't think that any child is too young to learn the value of money and the value of real estate. So the other night I did just this with my son and we agreed that he will get a part-time job (with my husband), and he will save his money, partial at least. My little guy - well he is as stingy as stingy comes - he makes a daily routine of opening my washer or dryer and scrounging for change. He has saved every nickel and dime. He has not a clue as to what he wants, but he tells me "when I get 100 million dollars mom, I am going to buy you a bracelet". Hmmm.. I told you he was stingy!
