"Blogging is certainly nothing new...by now, you've probably read a few blogs on different topics yourself. Real Estate agents are now getting in on this fast growing trend. They're doing it to not only generate more business, but also to educate home buyers and sellers about the market conditions...and what they're seeing first hand. Beejal takes a look at the growing trend." One of Sellsius' top ten female bloggers, Fran Bailey speaks to a Chicago Reporter about blogging. What is so interesting is that more and more bloggers are becoming picked because of their local input and not really because of their national input. With Technorati spiking at about 72 million blogs I find that it is important to keep my information local based and while I do tend to speak about some national companies on occassion, my ultimate goal is to keep it real, keep it simple and keep it close to home. Congratulations Fran! (btw, how did this affect your visitor stats?) | |

Christine,
My real estate blogging interview was broadcast at 5 a.m. CST on First Business and then available on their site www.FirstBusinessX.Com the following day. It had no noticeable effect on the number of visitors to my site. Not a lot of people are up that early and I think that show is watched mainly by financial traders.
I have had 2 times when the traffic to my blog spiked. The first was in January when the Chicago Tribune ran a story on real estate blogging on the front of the business section that included a couple of photos of me. The other was a few days later when the National Assoc. of Realtors picked up the story and mentioned it in an email to Realtors. My traffic doubled both days.
Keep blogging! :)

Wonderful find Christine. You have a knack for that.
Fran-- that segment was a great boost for real estate bloggers.
I guess we know how to pick a couple of winners :)

Sellsius - LOL - thanks! It was funny, when I watched the video, they showed her blog and I noticed the "Top Ten Bloggers" on the site, how great is that?
