Do you insist on MLS?
I happen to be one of those agents that believes that the Multiple Listing Service is a grand
thing. As Derek Burress says,
"The biggest advantage to you, as the seller, is that every single broker and agent participating in the MLS has an incentive to sell your home. This effectively puts every agent and broker in the area working to sell your home! The first place a buyers agent looks when he or she has a client interested in locating a specific piece of property is the MLS. There is simply no better way to gain instant and widespread exposure for your home than listing it on the MLS."
With that being said, I would also like to add that having your home on the MLS here in Queens NY, you are getting one of the best advertisements for your home. The public site offers alot of information to buyers and it leads them to your agent. Which of course, is a good thing. But it also employs the entire board of Realtors to sell your home.
Like Derek says, if you notice after a day or so that your home is not coming up in MLS, then you do need to contact that agent and find out why.
