Blogging and listings....
I was reading The Real Estate Tomato this morning - Blogging Your Listings. He was talking about have blogs for real estate listings and how or IF it should be incorporated into your blog and he also noted some neat ways to incorporated but not to combine.
I have to say, at first I was against putting any of my listings onto my site. I argued with my broker about this and finally gave into the "Idea", I mean really, what did I have to lose if I did incorporate my listings in my blog? But I did not put my listings onto my main blog - I added and linked a new blog. I renamed it, but made it accessible from my main blog. I joined Active Rain also and I added it there to.
In doing all this, I wound up obtaining a listing, and I am in the process of getting another one! With both of these sellers seeing and reading my blog and by seeing/hearing me constantly talking about listing the home at the RIGHT price - I was not forced to have to explain why I thought pricing was key. They KNOW how I felt about pricing. They KNOW that I won't "buy a Listing". They KNOW that I want to sell their home, not just advertise it - do open houses and then have the listing expire in 3,6,9 months. They already know that I am serious when it comes to real estate, because I TALK about it, and I show my opinions and thoughts.

christine - this is post that all real estate agents with blogs should read. and for those that have yet to start a blog, maybe this post will inspire them to start one, two or more blogs....

Thank you so much. Blogging has changed for me a little bit, I started out not knowing what direction to go in (and sometimes still wonder if I am going in the right direction). I am pretty sure that I will keep on blogging - I do enjoy it.

Thanks for reading, Christine.
One tip that I did leave out, not wanting to go over the head of my readers, is to backdate listing posts so that they don't appear in the main/recent content of the blog, but still have the benefit of:
1. Pinging the search engines
2. Getting categorized in the blog
3. Being fed to the RSS of those waiting on listings.
All-the-while, keeping them from cluttering the daily message with uninteresting listings.
